To change the From address, click the From button and select one of the email addresses you’ve added to Outlook. I have setup a profile in outlook 2016 for an exchange email account which has delegate access to another email account. Is there a way to either a) specify an alias as the default "send from" address, or b) manually set up outlook/outlook. Open a new email in Microsoft Outlook and then click Options > From.
*edit- apparently outlook 2016 can ONLY be setup using autodiscoverĮDIT: Before the upgrade yesterday, my outlook desktop was configured to send from my alias by default
When clicking on an email address on a chrome webpage (. When I tried to do a manual setup specifying "" as the exchange server, the setup completed, but did not connect to the updated, so I was left with only the "You need to reconnect" email sitting in my inbox. I cant find a way to make Outlook my default email client when I click on an email in Chrome. When I tried auto-setup using my alias, the setup would not work. In doing so, it seems that you must go through the auto-setup process*, and you must use an address for it to work. Yesterday I got a message that I needed to "reconnect" because of the upgrade. However, in the desktop Outlook, I have to choose this address every time I compose an email, there seems to be no way to set a default. I have my personal domain email address set up as an alias on my Microsoft account, and it is set as the default "send from" at.
Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they helped. So far Ive observed that in Outlook 2016, the Reply address will depend on what mailbox/Inbox you have highlighted, which makes sense to me but were phasing out the old email addresses so the users would like to reply to the sender that sent to the old address to get them to update their contacts, and ideally it will come From the new address. Solution Summary: Create a new profile and configure the account on it. I am using as my exchange server, and the latest Outlook desktop as my client. Request/Expectation: After Primary email address is changed Outlook shows old email address in the folder pane.
